Wedding Officiant

How can I assure that my wedding officiant is properly licensed?

David Smith is licenced in Ontario and is based out of Cobourg Ontario on the Service Ontario site here: Service Ontario - Licensed Wedding Officiants

How do I get a marriage Licence?

You need to go to a municipal office, within 90 days of your wedding date, with several pieces of government issued identification and pay a fee. YOU MUST BRING YOUR MARRIAGE LICENCE TO THE CEREMONY to have your wedding. All details are available at the Service Ontario Website at:

Is the Pre-Marital Counselling Inventory service only for those getting married?

Our program is customizable and will be automatically adapted based on the following attributes: dating, engaged, married, living together, no children, future children, becoming parents, children, step children, grown children, faith based, over 55, previously divorced, cultural/ethnic differences, etc.

What do you need for a deposit?

For each service offered by David, Gloria and/or Ron, we require a 50% deposit.

Can we get extra hours if we need them?

Yes, for a nominal fee.  We are flexible to discuss your needs and wishes.

Do you follow a shot list?

Yes indeed we do.  We will go over the list with you and add photos that you want specifically. Keep in mind however, the package that you've paid for and the number of hours we will be there.

How soon can you expect your photos?

We will send you your entire photos with you within 10 days of your wedding.  Once you choose the number listed in your package, we will touch up your photos where needed to give you a flawless finish.

What type of paper will you use for the prints and album?

If you choose the package with an album be assured that we use only acid-free, archival-quality paper, which will stand the test of time.

What do you need for a deposit?

Like our friend and associate, Dave, we require a non-refundable 50% deposit.  We have to say non-refundable because when you're booked, you're booked and we want to give you our undivided attention.  If you cancel, we are unable then to book anyone else for that time period.

What are the restrictions for sharing photos online or for publication? Do you own the copyright to the photos?

They are your photos.  You can put them wherever you want to.  Honest!  We would only ask you for permission (in writing of course) to display 2-3 of your beautiful wedding day  on our website.

Do you really do a free one hour engagement session?

Yes we really do.  It is our privilege to take photos (reenacted or hey, if you haven't popped the question yet, spontaneous - we love surprises).  We just ask that you book this time in advance of your wedding day.  Our weekday hours are more flexible if you want to plan a weekday.  It helps us get to know you and what you like.  Win win we say!

Do you bring your own lighting?

Yes we do.  We have additional flash as well as flash for our photo booth

Photo Booth

Speaking of photo booths, is the deposit requirement the same? Can we book extra hours if we want to?

Yes.  50% down please. And, yes, you can book extra hours for a nominal fee.  Just ask us in advance.

If we have a specific theme in mind, will you add to your props for the photo booth?

Sure!  Again, for a nominal fee.  We will do our best to find what you have in mind.  Have your list ready so we don't forget anything.
